This weekend is the 7th annual Parklife Festival. The festival first began in 2010 in Platt Fields Park in Rusholme, however due to the growing capacity of people wanting to attend, this was moved to Heaton Park in 2012. They can expect to accommodate over 70,000 per day over the 2 day festival. It is supported by a number of companies including NME, Lad Bible and Capital FM. The Garden House in Marple, Stockport is a hidden FREE farm that is just over a half an hour’s drive from Manchester City Centre. The farm features animals such as pigs, goats, alpacas, rabbits and more! They also have play frames, sand play and many more children friendly activities for you to take part in. Did you ever fancy being a contestant on The Crystal Maze? Well now you can experience it yourself with a group of your mates! The Crystal Maze on Lower Byrom Street in Manchester is open until the end of the month for you to go and test your skills. Heaton Park is featuring again in our fun things to do in Manchester this summer post. They have a new feature called Treetop Nets & Treetop Trek. The treetop adventure course is suitable for all ages, with the Nets course specifically catering for younger children, however it is not exclusively just for kids. Their nets feature 175m of walkways, a treehouse, aerial ball parks, a super slide zone and bounce zone, promising bouncy fun for the entire family beneath a beautiful woodland canopy. There’s the Mini Trek, which starts at 5m high and includes 16 fun challenges, including 3 zip lines. Finally, The Big Grill UK Festival is taking place during the 15th – 16th July weekend in Burrs Country Park, Bury. Weekend tickets are from £20 for an adult and £10 for a child, but kids under 5 go free! The festival features several ‘food challenges’ such as ‘Beat it if you can eat it’ and ‘Lord of the flames’ along with an enormous amount of food stalls for you to try from.
